GAC Newfoundland has over the years been involved in several educational initiatives, including workshops and field trips for teachers, and the production of guidebooks and articles about Newfoundland geology. We have also been involved in the planning of workshops under the EdGeo Initiative.
We are not currently active on any educational projects, but are certainly interested in any ideas for new initiatives. The St. John's 88-01 Trust Fund (see Awards option on main menu) provides annual monetary grants, which are applicable to geoscience-related projects at the elementary, secondary and post-secondary levels.
